THE FAR-FLUNG COVID 19 COULD IT SERVE AS A JUSTIFIABLE CONDITION TO SET PRISONERS FREE?

All countries under this sun set have been taken a reasonable measurement to attack the pandemic disease, if Nigeria's government duly taking a precarious mode to alleviate the virus, in order to safe the freest lives and hopeless lives who are in prisons (prisoners) they should find ways to behooves the prisoners because the virus is easiest to contract like the spread of airborne that everybody is perceived its breeze.

On this broad of spectrum thinking, I thought our government should look straightforward to other countries on how they are being managed their prisoners in this dying period and consider the rate that the disease is taking to strike.

Without wasting more ado on this, let us look upon the beautiful and brilliant decision upheld,#perjusticeNaomiLong said: "Has there been any solution to this virus as inmates are concerned?
If not at all but Iran whose have temporarily freed 54,000 prisoners to combat the spread of this disease.The early release of prisoners in Northern Ireland is not a step to be taken lightly,but a necessary response to covid 19.

   Thereupon, I supported her humble decision, based on a nation that Nigeria is being curfewed like other countries, mainly the rate of people of which the disease has been affected in Nigeria now! Is 184 as of yesterday report, that could be excessive symptoms for Government to do something at rightful time on prisoners, if not, their holdback might worst the situation leading to "vainness death"

On this premise, so not to prejudice the effect of section (175 sub 1 P a of 1999CFRN) conferred upon the president a right to give a " #Prerogativeofmercy that's President is authorized to give an order of #Amnesty  to set the prisoners free, that's either free or subject to lawful conditions.

Either free is interpreted as by way of amnesty, which is to set a group of prisoners free without any conditions, it usually occurred when there is elected of a new president OR subject to lawful conditions that's where there is a clear occurrence or imminent danger or the occurrence of any disaster or natural calamity affecting a whole state like #COVID19 thereof government can give out an order of prerogative of mercy to release the prisoners based on the lawful condition.

  For more perusal,  also this could be enshrined in section 212 sub 1 P A -D of 1999 CFRN grants the same power to a governor of a state and section 21 of Criminal Code as thus  "Nothing in this code affects the prerogative of mercy where of exercised in accordance with the Constitution of the Federation"

In conclusion, I urge and appease to our government to take  requisite steps on the prisoners before the disease started to penetrate their breathe of gasping.
